At Dancing Man Productions, a nonprofit arts organization based in Raleigh, we strive to celebrate creativity and cultural expression through various art forms, including community theatre. Our goal is to provide a platform for artists and entertainers, particularly in intergenerational and wellness-focused arts, to share their work with the world, including opportunities for senior theatre.

Freddie Lee Heath, Co-Founder and Executive Director, has dedicated more than 40 years to inspiring others as a dancer, choreographer, educator, and arts advocate. He recently retired as Director of Arts Education for Wake County Public Schools, where he guided the work of more than 650 arts educators and champion

Freddie Lee Heath, Co-Founder and Executive Director, has dedicated more than 40 years to inspiring others as a dancer, choreographer, educator, and arts advocate. He recently retired as Director of Arts Education for Wake County Public Schools, where he guided the work of more than 650 arts educators and championed equitable access to the arts for all students. A nationally recognized leader in dance education, Freddie Lee has received numerous honors, including Dance Teacher Magazine’s National K–12 Teacher of the Year, the National Dance Association’s National K–12 Teacher of the Year, and North Carolina’s prestigious Order of the Long Leaf Pine. For more than two decades, he has also led dance programs for adults ages 55 to 96, embodying his lifelong belief that creativity and movement are for everyone at every age.

She holds degrees in philosophy and religion, a master’s degree in arts integration, and serves as a facilitator for the Center for Courage an

Diane Petteway, Music Director, has dedicated more than 40 years to enriching North Carolina’s theatre community, musically directing over 100 productions for performers of all ages. She holds degrees in philosophy and religion, a master’s degree in arts integration, and serves as a facilitator for the Center for Courage and Renewal. Diane is passionate about the intersection of story, music, and movement, creating authentic theatre experiences that help people feel seen, heard, and valued. She is especially excited to bring that passion to Dancing Man Productions by engaging adults 55+ in the joy and connection that theatre provides.

Mark Steward, Co-Founder and Executive Producer, brings more than 30 years of experience in luxury hospitality, international business, and community leadership to Dancing Man Productions. In addition to his successful real estate career in North Carolina, he has spent nearly a decade serving on the board of United Arts

Mark Steward, Co-Founder and Executive Producer, brings more than 30 years of experience in luxury hospitality, international business, and community leadership to Dancing Man Productions. In addition to his successful real estate career in North Carolina, he has spent nearly a decade serving on the board of United Arts Wake County and ten years supporting the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Organization. Mark is also a longtime performer, having appeared in Theatre in the Park’s annual production of A Christmas Carol for eight seasons. He is passionate about creating opportunities that foster connection, creativity, and purpose, helping adults ages 55+ discover the joy of theatre and lifelong community engagement.

Paul A. Orsett, Technical Director, is a retired Theatre Arts educator with more than 34 years of teaching experience and graduate training in theatre directing from Roosevelt University in Chicago. Throughout his career, he has inspired generations of students, many of whom have gone on to pursue careers in the perform

Paul A. Orsett, Technical Director, is a retired Theatre Arts educator with more than 34 years of teaching experience and graduate training in theatre directing from Roosevelt University in Chicago. Throughout his career, he has inspired generations of students, many of whom have gone on to pursue careers in the performing arts. For more than 35 years, Paul has also served as a respected theatre adjudicator throughout North Carolina and Virginia, helping to elevate the quality of theatre education and performance across the region. At Dancing Man Productions, he brings his passion for storytelling, technical expertise, and commitment to creating meaningful theatre experiences for adults ages 55+ and audiences of all ages.

Maggie Rasnick Maggie spent 4 years as Youth Theatre Direct for Raleigh Little Theatre, and 24 years as Drama Director for Raleigh Charter High School.  She also spent 5 years as a proud member of the Raleigh Ensemble Players, a professional theatre company   Her directing credits include over 40 productions at RCHS and 16 productions for RLT. Notable works include  working with Jesse Gephardt on his hilarious “Santaland Diaries,  “Always, Patsy Cline” for RLT and REP and “Somewhere in Between” for Theatre in the Park.  Recent costuming credits include James and the Giant Peach and Skin of Our Teeth for RCHS, Company and Once Upon a Mattress for NRACT, Guys and Dolls Sr. and Music Man Sr. for Dancing Man Productions, Lady in the Dark for Meredith College and Seussical for St. David’s School and over fifteen site specific historical drama programs for SEED Raleigh.

Kelly Taylor is a Raleigh, North Carolina based nonprofit development professional with more than 20 years of experience advancing mission-driven organizations. Throughout her career, she has built a strong reputation for cultivating meaningful donor relationships, leading successful fundraising initiatives, as well as strengthening community impact and partnerships. 

Kelly’s work has included leadership roles with organizations such as the LGBT Center of Raleigh and the Orange County Rape Crisis Center. She has been a passionate advocate for equity, support services, and community empowerment.

In addition to her professional work, Kelly serves as the Board Development Chairperson for Dancing Man Productions, where she helps guide fundraising strategy and organizational growth in the arts sector.

A proud North Carolinian, Kelly often says her “blood runs Carolina blue mixed with salt water,” reflecting both her deep-rooted love for the state and her connection to the coast.

Susan Castro, Board Member, is a senior marketing and business strategist with more than 35 years of experience helping organizations grow through customer engagement, loyalty, and data-driven marketing strategies. She currently serves as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Operations at GOTOWN and has held leadership roles with nationally recognized companies, including Wunderman Thompson, Carlson Marketing Group, and her own successful consulting firms. Sue is deeply committed to nonprofit service, having supported organizations such as Little Sisters of the Poor, Special Olympics Illinois, and Raleigh Little Theatre. Kelly Lumpkin is a seasoned technology executive, entrepreneur, and active community leader who has called the Raleigh area home for more than three decades. He is the owner, president, and CEO of Alternate Access, Inc., where he leads work in VoIP telephone systems, call center architecture, computer networking, and custom application development. Earlier in his career, Kelly worked with IBM and ROLM, helping introduce cutting-edge technologies around the world. His international experience also fueled a passion for languages; he speaks English, French, and Spanish fluently, has studied Mandarin Chinese extensively, and has explored several other languages. Kelly is married, has four adult children, and is a proud grandfather to one grandson—and dog grandfather to Ella. Outside of work and community service, he is enjoying life on stage as an avid actor and budding musician, while also pursuing interests in gardening, international travel, and flying remote-control airplanes.

Terree Montgomery brings an extensive background in senior living management and non-profit leadership to her role with Dancing Man Productions. Her career beautifully mirrors the organization's mission to bridge generations, foster meaningful connections, and empower older adults to celebrate their creativity. After dedicating years to raising her children, Terree transitioned into senior living as a Marketing Manager, which quickly became a deep personal passion. She discovered a profound joy in building authentic relationships with seniors, helping them navigate vibrant new chapters of life with dignity and purpose. Terree’s impact extends into public service, having lent her leadership and strategic vision to multiple non-profit boards over the years. Today, she leverages this combined expertise in senior advocacy and non-profit stewardship to advance the vision of the organization. She looks forward to expanding community outreach and helping older adults discover joyful new possibilities through the transformative power of senior theatre.
